First, I have an old Dell for a few years, 1G CPU, 1G RAM with my MKII on W2K Pro. Even though I have my comments and suggestions, I was always impress with VDJ to work on any computer and perform almost flawlessly on mine. This is one of my reasons to purchased VDJ.
I put it to the test last night:
* Able to perform more finer tuning with the EQ's (before it was jumping in small increments with the MKII)...solved
* Awesome on the smart-tap & smart play (smart tap assist to create jingles/loops quickly and in sync)
* The new skin "HE5" doesn't use much CPU resources...Great job...It doesn't look 'busy'
* Awesome display to include key, bpm, db, time, & wave. The wave display (HE5) seems to have more details...confused when looking at the BPMs, but remember I used it last night for the first time...It is user friendly
* I did have to re-scan my playlist to get the keys and bpm...not a big deal...I was excited to use it right away
* I visited websites to learn music keys, instead of using mixed in key terminology, ex. 9A, 7A...anybody wants to buy MIK?
* VDJ has definitely improved on the product (One software to take care of most DJ's needs).

well i said thanks way back on page one and i would just like to reiterate that sentiment, friday morning installed 5.1 on the gig lappy ready for that nights gig and waited in anticipation to see how the new rmx update would fair as i have been having audio problems with this unit. now all i can say is a great big well done audio and video worked perfectly all night for six hours can't want for more than that.
but, there's always a but, when activating the clipbank the audio started to jump, would you have any ideas what may be causing this and if so could you advise.

what was wrong with the old one, do we need to analyze them all over again?? and obviously, it's not going to be written to it's id3 info.

People were always complaining the BPM engine wasn't accurate enough. Atomix improve it, someone complains the old one was good enough. Unbelievable.
The autogain has been improved for the 5.1 release - I've not had any problems with the songs changing volume during playback (unless they are supposed to of course) so you might want to check your settings, and also check you are not playing a file before it's fully loaded.
I never use automix, but I believe moving the mixpoints on an automix can be done by simply dragging the points in the waveform view.
The new skin is definately there, you just need to look. No-one else has had any problems finding it as far as I know ;)

Well, lets look at this logically shall we? He posted all of this at around 7:00 p.m. west coast US time...sorry 1900. So the odds of him being totally wasted are 50-50. So if we give him the benefit of the doubt that he was sober we have to conclude he was only trying to help. However, the comment about the logo is a long standing ATOMIX regulation, so it is off limits for all of us to comment on.
The BPM engine update was sorely needed if you mixed hip hop, or something besides house.
Camalot is a Key detection system, see here, and is used by a great many very skilled mixers. So for many of us it is a welcome addition.
If you do not like the auto gain it can be turned off, as is mine, by simply disabling it.
The Auto mix is not going to change in foreseeable future, this is a dead topic, please move along, nothing to see here.
The new skin is called VirtualDJ_5.2, it is also available in 1024X768 in the skin menu, please look again. (side note: it also shows the Key the present song loaded on the decks is in, which is useful if you do in fact mix in key)

3 days ago I loaded VDJ 5.1 onto my Mobile Rack system (see blog for pic those interested.) And last night I did a Wedding Reception with Video display (again See Blog for pics of video display truss)
VDJ absolutely AMAZED my Clients.
They Emailed my some pictures of they're wedding in the Dominican Republic, I slammed them into windows movie maker and made a slideshow in about 10 minutes. Played the slideshow in Clipbank while playing the music in automix in VDJ. The Maid of Honour didn't email me a song selection - so I only had a silent movie file after I was finished with movie maker.
I saw faces Drop with amazement when they walked in and saw "cangratulations....." written in text on the screen, The older crowd stayed much later than they normally do - While they weren't dancing because of advanced age - they were watching the music videos
But wait there's more........
The biggest Hit of the night - was the CAMERA PLUGIN
I use VISTA home premium on my mobile unit. so I bought this box:

It's vista compliant, I loaded the software and attached a run of the mill 200.00 Sony Handycam to the RCA/Composite input.
Worked directly out of the box.
What a software. Simply Incredible to think that this level of service can be offered to a Client, because of a choice in software solutions.
Am I ever glad I didn't buy PCDJ like I was planning to. I'm a rack DJ so Serato didn't even enter into the Equation.

I've got problems with the new Timecode Engine.
When i play 2 songs having the same bpm the songs run away very fast (after 10 sec)
It hast the effect of a very big flutter, but when i switch back to the v4 Timecodeengine everything works fine again.
I'm using the FS open Soundcard. Clear sound ist off, safe mode & overclock ist activated.
What is the problem here? Please help me!!!

Just got this from Numark:
It is currently in testing stages , talks are in progress to move it forward.
I cannot give an exact date at this time when it will be released but if testing goes well it should be soon it is important to us that the software performs optimally.
