Hey everybody i just bought my next behringer mixer and also im getting turntables really soon. In looking for all the past posts I was unable to find good choices for sound cards.
I want my setup to be professional and sound really good when Im scratching.
Can you please give me your input on what the best soundcards would be for the music to sound loud and the scratching to be clear.
From what I gathered the sounds cards that would be good are:
Virtual Vinyl box - cons: good but i already have the software
serato box - cons: i don't use serato
M-audio Connectiv - cons: could be an option
Audio Dj8 - cons: really expensieve
Could people please rate the top 4 sound cards to get in order of preference and workability? Then that way I can go down the list and get the best sound card for my setup especially if its feasible. I just want a good sound card thats been tried and tested in virtual DJ.
Thanks

When I got my TCV I ordered my Maya USB 44, It is great! not a prob. I love it. My SL1210MK2s are alive again. I also ordered the blue led kit for my TTs and look awsome!

I heard the maya usb 44 does the job but its not the great....its average to good from alot of sources. i really want something that has clear scratches and most importantly is nice and loud. I would consider the maya but it doesn't seem its a pro-grade sound card.

I have the DDM4000 and a Maya 44 sc. It's really a nice combo to have. The s.c. is crisp and clear. It doesn't miss a beat. You can turn it up as loud as you want. Maya and DDM4000 a great combo for TCV's.

Audio 8 DJ user here. Used to be a MAYA44 user. I'm happy with both cards, but the audio8 is an excellent card. :)

i guess you can't beat the maya 44 price of under $100...the other soundcards seem to be $300 plus like the audio 8. with the same setup as you, do you think it would be worth spending $200 for the connectiv or the maya is just the same.....
the optimum choice would be the vv box but you can't find the box alone anywhere....anybody selling theres? lol

The Maya44 USB is a very reliable sound card but the output is low. I have had mine for over 3 years and have NEVER has a single issue or problem with it.
As far as scratching goes, The Maya44 USB does not miss a beat. I am a Hip Hop DJ and have used my Maya44 with T.T.'s and CDJ 800's. Works like a dream.
My only gripe with the Maya44 USB is the output level. It is low, very low compared to the serato box. It sounds crisp and clear but is low in volume. I have used VDJ with a serato box and the sound was way louder and still sounded clear and crisp.
I have set up with other DJ's who had serato box on a club system and when I hooked my Maya up to the same system, with no changes other than the soundcard, It was VERY easy to hear the sound level difference. I had to turn the gains on the mixer up from 12:00 to 4:00 to get the same output level as the serato box gives. If you don't understand the time description (12:00 to 4:00) I had to turn the gain from a position pointing straight up to over 1/4 turn to the right.
But the Maya44 USB IS a good soundcard especially if you have a good sound system.

Yeah thast the only thing im worrying about. It sounds like the maya44 is pretty good but i need it to be loud because my system is not generally the best.
I had the hercules mk2 and that soundcard sucked balls. Always too soft.
What are some other soundcards that have the same advantages but has a louder output? connective perhaps? Good scratching + a loud output would be gold.
Thanks

I hear that the Conectiv is a very good soundcard but I have no personal experience with it.
The NI Audio 8 is a great soundcard but kinda expensive.

I had one and it was a complete pain in the ass. Would not work no matter what I did.
