Hi VDJ staff. Thank you for the great tips that you all have on your forums. Its been great help so far. I am a 12 year vet dj, however I have just recently switched to laptop mixing instead of cd player mixing ( 2 weeks ago) . Im practicing to make it smooth for my dancers on the floor. The problem Im having is when I plug in my mixer, I can hear the song Im cueing up through the other speaker. I dont want that I want to hear it through my headphones only until I switch the crossfade to the other VDJ player. No matter which output options I choose you can always hear the song that Im cueing through the opposite speaker. How do I stop this ? Do I need a new mixer , maybe usb capable ? Please help as I am preparing for another gig soon and I need to be able to cue up a song without anyone else hearing it but me while they hear the other song playing so I can beat mix and trasition smoothly. THANK YOU SO MUCH ! AZ DJ !

@azcoach

the headphone pre-listen is not enabled in the trial version. if you purchase the software you will have the option to do exactly what you want with little trouble.

Please research the mixing forums because the question has been asked and answered many times and what it would take to do it. Keyword " remove "... you get all the answers there.

Hope to see you as a pro member.

VIRTUAL DJ IS NOT SO GOOD FOR TRAINING ON ONLY BETTER U START BY MIXING BOTH ON THE COMPUTER AND ALSO ON THE THE REAL CD DECK OR TURNTABLE,HAPPENED TO ME ONCE WHEN I STARTED ABOUT A YR AGO WAS TRAINING ON VIRTUAL AND AT THE END WHEN I STARTED ON THE REAL DECK IT WAS REALLY HARD...BPM READING DONT USUALLY HELP IN HIP HOP RNB REGGAETON AND CRUNK MUSIC ALL YOU GOT TO DO IS LISTEN TO THE FLOW AND THE WAY THE BEATS DROP AND FOR STARTERS BETTER NOT TO HIDE THE BPM COUNTER WHILE TRAINING

I've personally realised that VDJ's bpm counters are sometimes wrong. If you go to config, there are 2 counters, ie. techno and drum counter and then the other music counter. If you are into hip hop, i find the other music sometimes correct but how do u get virtual Dj to get the correct BPM?

Hey all.
Thanks for all the help!
I have been reading lots about VDJ PRO and i hear it is one of the best dj'ing softwares out there.
But i still have a couple of questions that need answering.
Is VDJ PRO good for mixing any gender of music. House, Hip Hop?
How accurate is the BPM's they give you?
Why do a lot of Major DJ"S use Scatch live and other programs and not Virtual DJ?
And what is a good quality sound card... that is affordable.

Thanks for all the extra help and support!

hey guys, im not really a dj bu i have been using virtual dj for like 9 months now and i think its good. however i want to now dj in clubs but in the club i look like an idiot sitting in a chair and using a mouse and clicking constantly.....! therefore i bought myself 2 denon 3500 decks and serato sctratch live software....! now i think this idea is brilliant because you can manually do mixes and you will look more like a dj and people will feel that you are doing something rather then boring old clicking....! however i still feel that virtual dj is better purely because that it has a special sync button which automatically beat matches the bpm count to the other song and not only that but it is synced throughout the whole track whereas using the decks and the serato scratch live software i can no get the song synced and even if i do it goes off beat after a couple of seconds....! now i wanted to know that does this product of virtual vinly n cd let you sync the bpm before controlling it on the decks and once i have looped it certain beat does that stay in sync throughout the whole track which is playing on the other side.......? I need someone to help me because i really need to know this as its important to me...! i wanted to speak to someone about but i am in uk and i really do not know many people who know about virtual dj in the UK.....! can someone please get back to me on this one. i have many more questions which im seeking answers to so hopefully i will have a number to call regarding virtual dj......! please get back ot me asap, thanl you for reading, regards sumeet.

Thanks a lot DJ Norway!
I read this post just about when I need it most. I found out the same problem of cbg dots and beat bars not aligning in the middle and end of YMCA song ( Fat Boy Slim Rmx) this week, and have been trying to figure out the best way to mix it since the song has been specially requested for my next mixes. Will try to edit the song and do the cbg dan beatbars adjustment now :)

Hi Guys,

I've tried Dj-In-Norway's instruction here, but it is not working:

First, I use Mixmeisters to calculate and then input the bpm, then manually align the cbg dots to the beat bars. They were aligned in the beginning part of the song, then they start falling apart towards the middle and end of the song. When I try to manually adjust the middle parts or end parts, I found out that the beginning part's cbg dots and beat bars were now falling apart.

In the end I try to mix these two songs (both songs have the same problems: YMCA (Wicked Mix) and Shine On The Silvermoon) manually by controlling the pitch during the outro (YMCA) and intro (Shine...) after SYNC them at the same bpm. But, I still have to keep adjusting the pitch of the 2nd song to match the first one OVERTIME. The beat bars of both songs wouldl be aligned for sometime, then it starts falling aparts again.

What is the problem here? Does VDJ fail to identify the bpm or these songs just don't run at the same constant speed?

Thanks a lot in advance for the help :)
