UGH!!! OK so I have been waiting FOREVER for the MixLab 2.0 skin.. now it's finally here and I get the error mentioned by a few others...
"Invalid skin file (error line 0 in the xml)"

OK so in an attempt to fix it myself this is what I have done
1) Upgraded from rev4 to rev5
2) Downloaded and Installed the skin file again
3) Rebooted my computer
4) I also messed around with the files in the ZIP archive.. replacing the 2.0 xml file with the 1.3 xml file and I was able to actually get the 2.0 skin to launch. The skin looks great until I attempt to use it HaHa then when I mouseover certain aspects of the skin I see the old 1.3 stuff instead
5) I tried opening up the 2.0 xml file in Dreamweaver to see if I could maybe just edit line 0 but there is NO line 0.. it begins at line 1
How can there be an error in line 0 if there is no line 0???

PLEASE can someone help????

Thanks

Well two things are crossing my mind at the moment..
1. The VirtualDJ Logo which is allways included in the skins, does it causes general failure (error in line 0)? I haven't seen a Cue skin but it should have a Numark logo also?
2. Does your video card and monitor support 1280X800? If yes, maybe you should try to change your resolution before loading the skin.

Anyway it works for me ok. Great skin

OK I kinda got it working.. in the OLD 1.3 xml file.. lines 13 thru 16 look like this:
<logo>
<size width="36" height="18"></size>
<pos x="24" y="5"></pos>
</logo>

but in the NEW 2.0 xml file.. lines 13 thru 16 look like this:
<logo>
<size width="36" height="18"></size>
<pos x="32" y="10"></pos>
</logo>

So what I did was change the NEW 2.0 xml file line 14 to match that of the OLD 1.3 xml file line 14.
I am now about to launch and use the 2.0 skin but take a look at how the logo kinda overlaps where it should not :-(

Any ideas how to fix?

I had the same issue......I'm running a 19" at 1280x960 60hz......at one point I could not open vdj; got the line 0 error. I've gotten this in the past.....I rebooted and all skins seem to work....

This is wild....so I've opened and closed VDJ a few times.....

Just opened it(I had last closed it when it was on the Vmix 5.3 skin.....It opened to the default skin...tried to change it back to the Vmix skin...line error 0

I was able to change to the DAC 4.3 skin

Mix Lab 2 skin - error

Mixlite 1.0 OK

Turntablist OK

default- fine....

All these skins worked when i rebooted.....

Interesting...i re-adjusted resolution on the pc...dropped to 1152x864...went back to 1280 x 960.....The skins that were working previously would not open.....

Rebooted ----- Everything is Fine

So repeated closing and re-opening appears to aggravate the problem; rebooting seems to cure it....

What version of WINDOWS are you using? I had a problem whilst using XP MCE2005 where ANY compressed skin would not load... if I extracted the skins from the .zip they loaded without any problem...

Maybe this resolve will help you too...

I had the same problem yesterday eve.
What I did: Reload the mixlab, active the mixlab, restart the laptop and it works again ;-)

Odd i use MCE2005 and i have no problems loading skins but i did have audio glitches at one point where i noticed unzipped skins ran smoother.

There is as well a possibility as if you work in the xml by means of the pad and if the skin was created with the software C ++, the skin will give error, has the line 0

solution, maybe that if you have to work the xml, him(it) made with C ++ (free)

a+

Go to My Computer/My Documents/Virtual DJ/skins delete all of the skins except the default skins. Then try to re-open VDJ. See if that helps. Also, you should register your software here.
