DN-HC4500 CONTROLLER

http://www.denondj.com/prodview_item.asp?pid=67&cid=4

Numark needs to seriously step it up because this total controller will set a “Numark”—OOPS—I mean a “new mark” in the world of mixing MP3s. It’s designed to work with the forthcoming PCDJ Reflex software. It actually comes with a trial version of the software. I’m looking forward to using it with VDJ.

It looks really nice and has a builtin sound card. I made the choice to buy a dmc2, but I think I will wait until this unit is out.

Damm... as I posted in the other thread I wished it had gain controls and a crossfader. Because if I want to use this, I have to use an external mixer.

Right now I run off my laptop and MK2. The MK2 is like an all in one solution which I love. Easy to lug around.

Maybe a Rane MP4 would be a good compliment to this controller. But man to buy both = $$$$$$$.

A Rane MP2 would be great too and cheaper too, if the Denon has a built in soundcard which I think it does.

The question is will VDJ be adding this as a builtin controller / soundcard in a future update....

I'm sure somebody will be making a mapper for it, as it is a midi controller.

well my wait is over always want denon to get in the midi controller game i did send them a email asking them to make one a few years ago and they email me back.as u all know it's a denon so it's going to be about $900.00 $500.00 for the controller and $400 for the name denon lol

@DJ PHIL IT

The DN-HC4500 Controller will be sold for about $499, which is a good price for a Denon product.

Other options are the DN-X900

or the DN-X500

Here's a short video clip that illustrates how the DN-X900 and DN-X500 interact with the DN-HC4500:

Btw... I hope Numark is working on the DMC-3 & Total Control 2 (with touch sensitive jog wheels) because Denon has set a higher standard.

As with cell phones and televisions, the stuff that comes out is great......untill 3 months go by and something else comes along that's better.

I don't think the DMC2 is that bad - I have one and I like it.

Hell even my Antique DAC2 does a good job.

There are things about this device that really look good.

But it's stuff we asked for in the Numark Controller thread that was on here a few months ago.

It's just unfortunate that Dennon listened instead of Numark.

I love the scratch pads on these type of dennon players.
Plus It's Rack Mountable
Plus High Quality soundcard.

We asked - Numark came close - Denon delivered.

But Now that I own a DMC I'm not in any hurry to run out and get one.
Maybe if the DAC2 finally packs it in I will.

The reason why I was considering the rane was because of the 1u size. I like the MK2 because I can literally put it in my laptop backpack. You won't see me lugging around one of those Denon Mixers in my backpack along with a HC4500.

But I will say though one of the bars I work at has the Denon X-500 mixer. So I wouldn't have to bring a mixer with me when I go there.

it will be nice if it had crossfader but the sound card is a plus i think denon did this so u can buy one of there mixer some one will make a midi crossfader on of those days, the price is not bad it can also controll the denon cd players they should stop making the cd players put dvd rom, this controller will take over all the pc djs maket the next one will have a lot more things on there

Here’s another controller that I’ve considered. It also has touch sensitive jogwheels and a crossfader:

http://www.vestax.com/v/products/players/vci100.html

It also sells for about $499.

Denon or Vestax hmm… I wonder why Numark isn’t in the equation?

That's the answer.

Does anybody own the Vestax DJ midi controller? If yes, is it easy to use with VDJ?
