Topic: Ripping from VOB to Mpeg1

I use DVD Decrpter to Ripp to VOB. Do i need another Software to Ripp from VOB to Mpeg1? I think DVD Decrypter will only do VOB?

smart ripper ..yep that'll do it it has a demo and is 29.00 to buy (the best in its price range)

another good one is main concepts mpeg encoder but its like 150.00 to buy and the trial puts a watermark on the ripped video (however it encodes fast as hell trust me )

Why the extra step? If you want Mpeg1, why not just ripp to that from the beginning?

I also thought smartripper was free. At least the version I got was, and it works great. I do understand that it is harder to find, since it has become illegal in the country where it was first distributed.

I now use dvddecrypter to rip the vobs then use tmpgenc express to convert to mpeg1, it has far more configuration options than most other stuff enabling me to get really good quality.

I think DVD Decrypter won't do Mpeg1.

No it doesn't, you need a software like No1 dvd ripper or imtoo.
