Topic: Macbook pro M3 8gb
Hi,
Is the Macbook pro M3 CPU 8 cœurs
GPU 10 cœurs, 8 Go and not 16gb, powerful enough to run stems? I know 16gb is recommanded but the GPU is powerful.
Thanks 🙏🙏

Go for the 16gb

It is more than enough.
I have a Macbook pro M1 8go RAM and a Macbook Air M2 (15'') 8go RAM. VDJ runs perfectly on both.
I use VDJ with a DDJ1000, STEMS 2.0 on the fly while mixing and have soundswitch running background for DMX lights.

I have colleagues that are using Macbook Air M1 8go RAM with no issues

Everytime I see a post about this I wonder why the OP doesn't try googling "VirtualDJ Minimum system requirements", instead of coming to the forum to post and wait for a response.

A very well written VirtualDJ Wiki has been written on this, and this should be your guide.

Note: You might get away with lower specs in certain areas (that is what the minimum is meant to represent), but if you ever experience problems, especially performance-wise because of it, that will be on you (the recommended specs is meant to avoid/minimize this happening).

The 8gb is just cost cutting by Apple and quite franlky ridiculous in 2024.
