I believe Virtual DJ 8 only works on OSX 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9.
I can see you are running version 10.6.8 - I will get one of the team to confirm though.

Yes VirtualDJ 8 needs 10.7 minimum, though we recommend 10.9

Full screen browser is possible in custom skins. The browser is a lot more flexible then it used to be.
In fact the entire skin engine is considerably improved over V7.

my EXTREMELY tired eyes are almost liking the monochrome-ish forum but that's cause i'm old.
but about 8 so far - THAT SOUND!!! I had an eargasm.
video is a little confusing so far - been unable to get it to extended desktop.
will play with it a while longer or until I pass out. not sure which
and at a guess, I think some of the older skins and possibly effects as well will not be compatible? some of the older ones weren't showing in menu

In a custom skin the browser can be made to fill the screen.
Yes the browser_zoom function has been removed but it doesn't mean that similar/better functionality is not possible.

I had to update some of the skins to get them working. The old ones wouldn't display a preview or load fully (mostly black screen) but when I grabbed a newer version they worked.

What I'm asking is for it to be available in any/all skins (inc default ones) - like it was previously.

Thats correct. Many effects need to be rewritten for V8. That is because V8 is now 64bit while VDJ7 is only a 32bit application.

Wow, first impression is that a lot of work has gone in to the new version.
Busy reading the manual before having a play.
I take it the multiplatform iOS version is a no go?

Only on MAC side.
PC side is still 32 bit

Just something that bugged me about V7 .... is it possible for fields that justify right to have the title at the top in the right hand position?

I am actually enjoying the VDJ8 and the sample is killing me, I will cover a wedding on Saturday and will surely kick some asses. The sample syncs automatically with the music playing, hope the full version will bring the timeline. Thanks VDJ, I am withdrawing all my previous ranting here.

Yes, it's now possible to get samples syncing without needing to load them on a deck and record them first. They have their own beat grid & tempo adjustment.
This means that any samples from commercial libraries etc. can be used.
