I know there is a lot of debate out there on the TT57 working with VDJ, but what about the RANE 61? It is a MIDI mixer, has anyone mapped it yet? I would like to use it rather than my ADJ DVUSB mixer with my V7's
Thanks
Thanks

Read the comment at the bottom of page 2 in this PDF file
Sounds like it is MIDI mappable to me.
Yep. Pages 46-48 of the Sixty One manual list all the MIDI stuff.

I think you'll have to map it yourself, Tidalwave.
I'd guess that 99.99% of DJs buying a Rane mixer aim to use it with Serato s/w, so the number of Rane + VDJ users will be tiny.
You may well be the only one! The good thing is that you could upload your mapping here and let others benefit (plus it'll help towards getting an extra star on your account).

It starts here:
http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Controller_Definition.html
I get the basic idea, however even with some help with the definition file, I haven't been able to get VDJ to see it correctly. Since there is only a few functions on the mixer, simple midi wrapper may suit you just fine.
If you want to do it the right way this is the basic idea:
Create Device file = Tells VDJ what the controller is and what the buttons/sliders/knobs are.
Create Mapper file = Tells VDJ what the buttons/sliders/knobs do.
Most functions are pretty simple, and you can get help from the forums if you can't figure out the proper scripting for an action.
This seems to be a helpful tool.

Please open your own new topic on this subject rather than hijacking another topic that is not related. This topic is about the mapping the Rane 61, not setting up Pioneer CDJ's and DJM 2000.
To open a new topic, click on the pen and paper icon at the top of the main forum list. You should also ideally use the correct forum when posting, which in this case would be Hardware Technical Support.
Please also register your Pro serial number to your account and then download the latest version from the Download Center.
If you have not purchased VirtualDJ Pro then please support the software and its future development by purchasing it (Especially if you are working DJ and are making money as a result of using it at your gigs.)
