Me, I choose not to use it. I can beat match songs really fast because I have been doing it for such a long time with all types of genres. I always go thru the basics. Start to Play songs from a certain time (Marked in the Cue point) Move the pitch then use the pitch bend and then blend the track.
 
well SERATO new controller has a SYNC button now…. is that ok now. who cares bout the sync button

Apparently everyone who keeps digging up this dead horse and what does Serato have to do with this??
 
So just a thought, but why is the sync button event relevant in this argument? The real feature is the BPM analysis. Because of it we know the BPM of everything and if it will work without counting beats and manually hunting for the right speed.

BPM analysis is the the only time the Sync button can even exist. At that point Sync is nothing but a short cut to match two pre analyzed songs who's information you already know because the software scanned it for you.

Same can be said for Key scanning too. All that info ahead of time in the browser is really the replacement for the talent count, match & memorize. I still feel there is much more to the job than just that, but I hope some of you will read this and see how silly all this hate for the Sync button really is.

BTW Serato and the NS7 has had a sync button since 2009. It has been in their software for a while now...
 
Serato, Virtual DJ, Traktor, Mix Vibes, etc.. Who ever.. To make More MONEY.. You have to cater to everyone. That means adding a Sync into the software. Now, Just because the software has a SYNC, It doesn't mean you have to use it. Its Only a Feature that Some Requested.. Some Djs Use it and Many Don't . If you choose to use it, Go ahead. Now, if a Controller looks really Hot and it does have a Sync button, I wont stop me from buying it. I just wont use that feature.
 
somehow SERATO makes its way into these threads… so i decided b4 someone else does
 
I just stopped by to kick the dead horse too and let the VDJ community know that the SYNC button will be mapped by default as.. sampler 'siren' play_stop.. in next release :P
