Topic: What mixer should you buy after mastering the Numark Mixtrack Pro?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I've been messing around with the Numark Mixtrack Pro since March and I'm wanting something a little more professional. Don't get me wrong, it does everything I need it to, but I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing that I'm just not aware of.

I also don't like showing up at parties with a huge piece of plastic that doesn't look professional.

Yes, I do want to stay with an All In One controller... Does anyone have some suggestions?

Thanks guys!

it always comes down to price, so what are you willing to spend?

You didn't say how much you wanted to spend, but if your already familiar with the Mixtrack, the NS6 would be a nice choice for upgrade. With Odyssey case will set you back around $1250 new, unless you catch a deal. Often the big retailers will have 15% off, so watch for that.
The MixDeck is a nice little unit, allowing CD's, USB flash, iPod and mp3, however the mixer section of it isn't midi, so the knobs wont control VDJ. It works fine, just kind of weird not seeing it on screen. Online deals for that including a case are around $700 I think.
Another choice would be the Denon MC6000, and my personal favorite, the NS7 FX.
Great time to select a new controller, just take your time and try and get your hands on one before buying.
Something else to consider is "glide style case" or case with laptop stand.
Good luck!

The Numark N4 to come out in December, even though it has plastic, I wouldn't be embarrassed to bring it to a gig, personally. Have you considered that one as an option?

Agreed. That would be a good one for sure. But if he doesn't have near $999. Then I'd do N4 (cheaper man's, so to speak, version of NS6, correct me if I'm wrong.)
