Given the styling, I'm surprised it's not named the Pioneer iDJ Controller.

Total Agree, have been saying this for years. I made the Denon rep aware of my thoughts on the MC6000, hopefully they'll listen, sick of these toys!

From the locked thread:
It's clearly not intended for professional use, here are some of the potential drawbacks while rocking this thing (based on just looking at it).
* USB bus powered
* Position of the pitch fader (left deck) in relation to the left channel fader
* Tiny looking buttons above the jogs (and loop in/out)
* The closeness of the transport controls in relation to the outter rims of the jogwheels
Overall it's an accident waiting to happen anywhere outside of drunken fun at house parties ;) - wow those last words take me back.

If it's a choice between a mix track and this I'd choose pioneer, what can I say I'm a gear slut LOL

Arrgghhhh that default beatgrid effect and horn sample should be banned from any future presentation..
And yeah, it looks be be made for VDJ, if so, nice going even though i'd rather see a 'real' pioneer controller with VDJ.

I wasn't impressed with the DDJ-T1...or S1 so I doubt this will impress me either...I'll stick to my S4 with TP2 and VDJ7 Pro...

I did a bit of searching...
At this IFA show, Pioneer also showed a new series of audio kit called Steez, aimed at streetdancers (!).
Pioneer have a teaser web page up, which shows a portable player that (I think) is along the lines of a Pacemaker - it has a mix button.
Also they mention some software called MIXTRAX which seems to be similar to Mixmeister in that it analyses your tracks and mixes for you.

It looks pretty good for a starter controller but the price will probably be the main factor to it's success. Either way if Pioneer will throw me one I would gladly accept it :D

Yes this controller is defintly NOT for the pro user.....but you all have to agree...its one of the better starter controllers that is coming out in the past few years....not that its a pioneer...because as it was stateted they are always over priced....if they can get this is the $250 US range....I think they can have a winner here....

Funny how vdj only get bundle with non pro controllers......smh

I HIGHLY doubt this thing would be $250, I'm willing t o bet my left nut it will be around the $450-500 range. Pioneer has a reputation to uphold!
As their US director of marketing once put it to us in a seminar showing off CDJ2000s
"You pay more for Pioneer gear because we are the Lamborghini of DJ Gear"
That had to be the lamest reason anybody ever gave me to buy Pioneer gear, it was funny seeing the Denon rep shake his head.
I would have walked out of that seminar at that point if it wasn't for this HOT ASS Japanese chick who was actually an engineer on the CDJ2000 LOL

What really makes 'PRO' gear?
Is it PRO because it looks a certain way, the name of the manufacture, or because of the person using?
I find it hilarious that people comment on equipment ( and more so software) before the can even put their hands on it.
@Bagpuss and DJ Sugar - if you don't like it then don't come to the forums and comment. Neither one of you can positively provide input to these forums as of late. So why do you even bother to post let alone visit the forums.
But back on topic, if you make judgement on something purely by a picture and a rep that can't even truly talk about the product then you are a fool for believing you know all there is to know about it and pass judgement.
How about waiting until the official release so you get ALL the info before you judge.

um quality of components, and quality of construction, if those are the the measurements then the the comment is true, only the denon falls into this catagory, everything else is cheap and breakable. Sure anyone with talent could use any device but you can abuse something with quality construction whereas a plastic cheap controller will break with the same useage.
But the only midi controller I have used with professional components and construction is the Allen & heath Xone 1d, shame about the jogwheel though, never tried the ns6... Oh and pioneer djm800 and cdj900 but they are in a different league
