Can this be used with timecoded vinyls? It supports asio so i should think so.
its just that on the products page it doesent say anything about TCV but the othersound cards do.
my friend only wants this soundcard because its the cheapest

no.
the numark i/o only supports 2 stereo outputs. for a timecode function you need with 2x stereo outputs and 2x stereo inputs.

ok my friend is using nurmak cue, and he wants to know what is the cheapest soundcard box he can buy so he can use timecoded vinyls with a external mixer, decks and nurmak cue itself. He also knows that he can buy vdj time coded vinyls, but will the work with cue?
if not can you buy numark timecoded vinyls seperatly?

ok ive been using the djio card since i got vdj and its a great soundcard but only for soundcard never let me down.two stero outputs plus mic and ephones.ive upgraded to rmx but still use djio in different pubs and strill ok

the VDJ timecoded vynils will work with cue since cue and VDJ are the SAME judt different names and default skins..the cheapest would be the maya 44..to connect the turntables..DJ IO doesnt have enough outs and ins for a timecode use...

is the behringer u-control a good soundcard? you can hook up at least one turntable i think.

Would this soundcard (the Numark i/o) send players 1 and 2 of Virtual DJ 5.2 to 2 seperate channels on an outboard mixer?
Also...I have a Dell Inspiron 1420. Would the Numark be a significant improvement in sound quality?
Thank you!

The DJ i/o has a 25bit soundcard in it. The quality is better than the RMX but not as good as an Audio8. Everything is subjective depending on your needs. With a set of RCA outputs it can be slaved to en external mixer, or effects like an EQ or maximizer, to improve over all sound quality. But it is not suitable for most stand alone applications, or for time code use. I have had mine for over a year now and it has served me well when used in conjunction with a mixer (to improve its sound quality).
But, to answer your question, no. It does not have assignable outputs for each independent "deck" or "player".

Thank you so much TearEmUp. : ) Very helpful. What would I need to get to achieve seperate sends for the decks?

is there a similar soundcard on the market that does more or less what dj/io does but with a better sound quality.?
no matter what I try with this puppy I just can't get used to it's 'squashed' sounding characteristics :(
makes my pa sound compressed, even with a quality 32 band dual eq hooked up !

@ TearEmUp...I may have read your reply incorrectly, but you can assign the two outputs from the DJIO to separate input channels on an external mixer.
In one of my rigs, I use the DJIO connected thus:
1) DJIO connected to laptop via USB.
2) Output 1 on DJIO connected to channel 1 input (via Line In) on my DDM4000.
3) Output 2 on DJIO connected to channel 2 input (via Line In) on my DDM4000.
4) Headphones connected to the headphone socket on DDM4000.
5) Mic into Mic channel of mixer.
Virtual DJ Sound Config:
Inputs: NONE
Outputs: External Mixer (Deck 1 : Left Channel / Deck 2 : Right Channel)
Sound Card: ASIO Driver - Numark USB Audio Device.
Virtual DJ now sends the audio from each deck, unaltered by any inbuilt audio control, directly to the mixer, whose controls are now used to alter the audio. PFL is handled by the PFL selection on the mixer, etc, etc - Basically in this config, the mixer is receiving the audio signal in the same way as it would if I had connected CDJ's (which I do, I connect the audio outputs of my NDX800's to channels 3 and 4 of the DDM4000, so that I can swap between CD / USB stick or MIDI).
Again, I apologise in advance if I read your reply incorrectly.

just been looking at the Deejay Trim
may be just what I need to kill two birds with one stone too !
It looks a better deal than the dj/io with improved signal carriers like 1/4 inch outs
also, I need a provision for a cd player and this bad boy has line ins, for cd and turntables so kinda combines mixer capabilities with a soundcard !
just without the faders ;)
has built-in hub for 3 usb devices too for more stability me thinks, and has its own ac adapter power supply.
mic in and with talk-over, could this be the solution to my problem ?
anybody using one at the moment ? if so, what's the verdict !
