Name: DN-MC6000 Ch 3<1 L-R 2>4 Mapper Author: zacek100 - Professional edition user - Date added: Wed 16 Feb 11 @ 2:36 am Last update: Thu 28 Apr 11 @ 1:01 pm Monthly downloads: 111 Total downloads: 3 695 Your current licenses do not allow you to download Controllers |
Based on:
Description:
Version 1.2 changes:
- "Shift + LOOP IN" - Reloop your last active loop.
- "Shift + Ch(x) PFL CUE" - This will UNLOAD the specific deck.
Version 1.1 changes:
- XML controller Mapper file and the SKINS (available separately) now match the Channel order of (3 - 1L | R2 - 4)
- Master Volume is mapped to Virtual DJ. This may help if you easily peak your upstream mixer because your output level is too hot. (See notes below)
- PFL/Headphone CUE/Deck Select now works correctly. There was an issue where you could not make a particular deck active or the wrong channel would be sent to the Headphone Cue.
- "Shift + CUE" - Toggles SMART CUE ON/OFF (see below for details)
- "Shift + PLAY" - Toggles SMART PLAY ON/OFF (see below for details)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is the Virtual DJ controller Mapper file to setup the DN-MC6000 in the (3 - 1L | R2 - 4) channel configuration as opposed to the default (1 - 2L | R3 - 4) configuation. Please note that with this kit you can use the following scenarios (ALL USING PC-MIX MODE):
- All Channel inputs set to MIDI on the MC6000: VDJ has control of all 4-Decks with the following channel layout:
-- On MC6000 . -- On VDJ
-- CH2 . . . . . . -- Deck A (left)
-- CH3 . . . . . . -- Deck B (right)
-- CH1 . . . . . . -- Deck C (left - sample/loop deck)
-- CH4 . . . . . . -- Deck D (right - sample/loop deck)
- Channel input 2 & 3 set to MIDI, Ch. 1 & 4 set to External Source (ex: CDJ Unit or iPod) on the MC6000: VDJ has control of Decks A & B only. The mixing of the external sources is handled by the MC6000 with full gain/faders/EQ support with the following layout:
-- On MC6000 . -- On VDJ
-- CH2 . . . . . . -- Deck A (left)
-- CH3 . . . . . . -- Deck B (right)
-- CH1 . . . . . . -- CH1 source controlled by MC6000 (left)
-- CH4 . . . . . . -- CH4 source controlled by MC6000 (right)
- Channel input 1, 2 & 3 set to MIDI, Ch. 4 set to Ext. Source on the MC6000: VDJ has control of Decks A, B & C. The mixing of the external source in Ch4 is handled by the MC6000 with full gain/faders/EQ support with the following layout:
-- On MC6000 . -- On VDJ
-- CH2 . . . . . . -- Deck A (left)
-- CH3 . . . . . . -- Deck B (right)
-- CH1 . . . . . . -- Deck C (left - sample/loop deck)
-- CH4 . . . . . . -- CH4 source controlled by MC6000 (right)
If using external sources it is recommended to setup the X-FADER countour/controls (on front of the MC6000) as follows:
- CH1: A
- CH2: A
- CH3: B
- CH4: B
- Contour: CENTER
Additional Mapper features:
"Shift + CUE" - Toggles SMART CUE ON/OFF (while pressing SHIFT on the controller the CUE button will lit up when smart_cue is ON; also there is a lock indicator on the MC6000 skin and on the default VDJ v7 skin)
"Shift + PLAY" - Toggles SMART PLAY ON/OFF (while pressing SHIFT on the controller the PLAY/PAUSE button will FASTBLINK when smart_play is ON; also there is a lock indicator on the VDJ v7 default skin)
Additional notes:
- Matched skins are available in the SKINS section:

- You may need to re-adjust your starting volumes for the SAMPLES playback
- If you need the same controller mapper without the Master Volume mapped please see my pertaining Blog. You may also just delete the MASTER_VOL line from the XML file.
- If you use this controller mapper and you are doing a recording with the controller, make sure to manually move the software master volume button to 90% - 100%, otherwise your mix will be recorded at a lower volume. Your set volume will remain unchanged until you touch the controller's volume knob again or you restart VDJ.
- I have not fully tested the skin set in the VIDEO or SCRATCH modes but I do not anticipate any issues there.
- Bug reports or feedback would be greatly appreciated :)
Instructions:
Just download the XML file and put it in the MAPPERS folder of Virtual DJ. Note that you can only have 1 custom mapper file in the destination folder at a time. Alternatively you can use the Profile Chooser utility available from the VDJ site to get around this.
