Topic: No timecode signal found...Why???

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello VDJ family. I have a pair of cdj 800's and my tascam x9 mixer with my maya 44 usb. I get sound but NO CONTROL. NO TIMECODE SIGNAL FOUND. I can hear the music, can scratch, can stop the music but not go back to the cue point. What could I be doing wrong??? Since the loss of my TT's last year I have been doing it with the laptop only. I want to get back to cuttin n scratchin but I really want it to be right you know?

Please let me know what i'm doing wrong. When I auto config, I get no timecode signal found.

I can load a song on the laptop, hit play on the 800 and it plays. I can even scratch but if I hit cue, it only pauses. play will resume from the point that I stopped the music instead of the cue point. For no reason I can figure out, the track will start to play in reverse. I love this program.
Been using it for years now but this issue is a heartbreaker for me.

Please help.

I know it's been a long time since i've been here but could I please have some support for my issue? I really want to spin with tccd, something I have not done in over a year. I used to spin tcv but my tables were stolen over a year ago. I'm trying to get back to work cuttin and scratchin but I need help with the timecode issue.

Please help a brotha out.

When you say you get sound that must mean the signal is getting through to 'play' the record ? yet no control? bizarre ?

Do you have master tempo switched OFF ?

I have master tempo "on". But on or off I still have the same issue.

Pretty sure the problem is that you are having too loud outputs from the CDJ-800 into your soundcard.
Pioneer CDJ 800 has a very loud output, so you need to use the PRO GRADE timecode

You can download it here:
http://www.virtualdj.com/products/timecode/cd.html

that should fix it ;)

Also, CDJs are a VINYL emulation CD player. So you can get great sucsess by setting VINYL in VDJ timecode settings, and CDJs in Vinyl mode.

If you are more of a "cd player dj", choose CD mode in VDJ, and on the CDJs

Norway...Real good to hear from you. Old friends die hard. I'm sorry I did not put it in this post, I am using the Pro grade sound level timecode. let me expand on my post...

Hello VDJ family. I have a pair of cdj 800's and my tascam x9 mixer with my maya 44 usb. I get sound but NO CONTROL. When I try to auto config, I get the error message "NO TIMECODE SIGNAL FOUND". I have downloaded the high end Pro grade sound level tccd signal from the VDJ downloads on this site. I load the tccd's into my Pioneer DCJ 800's. When I push play I can hear the music, can scratch, can stop the music but not go back to the cue point. What could I be doing wrong??? On the timecode config window, the timecode goes the over the whole wave window with square edges on top and bottom. timecode quaility reads 0%. Turning the gains down does nothing.

Please let me know what i'm doing wrong. When I auto config, I get no timecode signal found.

I have program set in cd mode. I want to be able to hit cue and "go back to the cue point"

good to see ya back City ;)

Okey, try this :

- Set CDJs in VINYL MODE, and press play on the player
- in VDJ performance tab, choose AUTO for latency
- in VDJ timecode settings, choose VINYL mode and turn ClearSound OFF
- press AUTO CONFIG

That works great for me at least (but I dont have the maya card)

I tried. The VDJ platter spun backwards. I have all cables connected properly.

This is blowing me. I WANT to use tccd but I need to get it to work. Right now it's not working. I am currently on line and on vdj so if someone can help me, I would really be glad to accept that help. I have a gig tomorrow and saturday and would LOVE to use my tables.

Backwards?

Check invert phase in the advanced timecode settings, or invert stereo. Try both.
one of the settings, should make it go forwards ;)

Do you get 100% timecode quality by the way?
