I really beg to differ on the point that MixMeister is superior to MixedInKey - MixMeister, for one, doesn't actually detect anything in major keys, EVER. MixedInKey, not too long ago released version 3 that has a dramatically improved detection engine and is a little more useful.

Thats a matter of taste, one can use MixedInKey if one likes... But if you are talking about features in MixedInKey, then check out the MixShare one that is absolutely free, and kills MixedInKey in a second ;)

As far as detection goes, the Camelot guys did a comparison of them all, with studio mucisians present.
MixShare : 60-70% correct - Harmonically "good enough" 80%
MixMeister : 50-60% correct (ignores minor keys) - Harmonically "good enough" 70-80%
MixedInKey : 40-50% correct - Harmonically good enough 50-60%
But they might have improved as you say. Comparisons where done a while ago.
But then again, Mixmeister is "free", and works a LOT faster... And I have used it for 2 years, and super content ;)
And all should trust your EARS in the end. Cause non get 100% correct. If it sounds a bit sour, its NOT in key ;) Just as BPM can be wrong at times, so can keys.
And, MixMeister writes tags that VirtualDJ automatically reads into its database. Not sure MixedInKey does this...

Look here for the Camelot Key scale, and use, for those who wonder about easy use

If anyone is out for more features, try this: (although this was more usefull before VDJ added key tags )
It will auto color code harmonic songs, and color scale harmonic ranges, from what song you are currently playing etc.
And how it looks after Mykel and DJ Format made a VDJ skin for MixShare ...
Vmix jukebox can be downloaded here : http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/skin.html?id=3156
Advanced music browser with KEYCODE, HARMONIC MIX INDICATIONS, FULL IDTAG SUPPORT etc etc can be downloaded and used for free here : www.mixshare.com
Have fun ;)

Can you provide a direct link for this skin, as I can't find it anyway on the Skin pages.
Cheers

Hum, seems gone unfortunately.
But you can use any skin.
And since VDJ 5 has key-tags itself, the MixShare way above, is kinda not needed anymore ;)
