Topic: Midi Question???

I want to hook up my Numark CDXs to my Laptop via a USB Midi device. Question I have is do I need a Midi In and Midi Out cable to each or do I just daisy chain them?

I am thinking about picking up a M-Audio Midi controller or Motu Mini Midi controller but if I can daisy chain them I will get a simple USB Midi Interface....

You cant daisy chain midi by only using midi "in" and midi "out" as the device will only send its own data to the midi "out". You need to use midi "thru" instead to be able to send external data through a device and out to anther device. A Midi "thru" port is becoming very uncommon on devices these days though.

Alternatively a USB or Firewire Midi device or soundcard with 2 outs will supply signal to 2 devices, such as the M-Audio Midisport 2x2.

Thanks for the info.... So I plan to get the MidiSport 2x4, then I would need in and out to both CDXs right?
