Topic: LAPTOP Video Mixing sync problem (Audio lag then advance)?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi there all

I have a P4 laptop with 3.2ghz intel, s-video output for video output, sound blaster Audigy 2zs laptop card, 1gb ram memory, 80gb hard drive, linked to Numark total control, using Virtual dj v5 rev 6 pro

Im trying to do seamless video mixing, but i have noticed there is a slight Audio sync problem with all videos, im using vobs, avi's, mpegs, and xvid files,

all videos work fine when played in various media players (stays in sync.)!

The audio lags then advances, by its self? (slight judder effect) (out of time with a metronome click), you can see it on the waveform display at the top of VIRTUAL DJ which shows audio tracks too? it judders or slight jolt every few seconds

How can i fix this problem a.s.a.p?

i have defragged hard drive, 100% ok, and all extras are off, e.g network card = off, wireless network = off, modem = off, etc

if i disable clock will that work? but i need clock to tell me when its time for sleep? Lol

Can Anyone help? what is the solution? new laptop may not help?

What is your video card... what are your performance settings.

ok

its a ati 64mb built-in laptop video card

and cofig < performances in virtual dj are...

presents = fastest
soundcard= latency = auto... in safe mode
scratch optimize for quality and simple algorithm
48khx<->44k = basic interpolation
master tempo = fast

please dont say its video card problem as videos play fine with various media players

hope someone can help soon?

Not for nothing but the video card sucks, and I mean that in a nice way. Please don't compare with other media players, unless they can play two at a time. You are asking this card to do something it is incapable of doing. I needs at least 128mb of dedicated memory, just to think about mixing two videos at the same time.

Laptop video cards are not easy to upgrade, so i might have to ask santa very nicely for a new laptop a,s,a,p LOL

Any ideas what i should go for?

dell M1530 xps maybe? or is there anything more better and cheaper?
