Topic: Help! What does VDJ use to run video's: Video Card or Processor

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

VDJ Crashes and Video's are slow and choppy when the 2nd deck is activated and I transition between decks. I'm trying to find out the cause but so far no luck. Can anyone or the developers tell me if VDJ uses the video card to generate video's or does it directly access the computers CPU and Main Ram?
My laptop is an Alienware Pentium 4 3.2 Gig processor with 1 Gig of ram and an ATI mobility 9600 video card with 128 megs of on board memory.

i just dont use the sonique plugins when a vid isnt playing.
i know my 512 ram is border line but why change something when its not broken

So are you saying VDJ definitely uses the video card and not the main CPU and Memory to run VOB files?
