What does it mean to have partially shared graphics, it says it has 256 dedicated but up to 1024mb shared??? If this will work I am prolly gonna buy it and try to lighten my load a little for certain nites.

That means that the grafic card, the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS has 256 MB RAM. The rest of the ram came from the pc ram (the 2gb). The grafic card is a good video card, it is the reaplacement of the GeForce Go 7600 / 7700. You have HD encoding and directX 10 on this card.

Yeah think you can use this notebook, but maybe a ati grafic card is better. Don't know how it is on directx 10 grafic cards, but on directx 9 the ati card was the better choice.
why a notebook, think a barbone system ist much better for video djing (better grafic card, cheaper and maybe a raid system)???

Me changing my mind, I am gonna build a shuttle and transfer my ATI X1950 gt graphics and my HDDs (hopefully), I can do this a lot cheaper than buying a lappy. I am just sick of carrying my full tower.

I'd really try and avoid that laptop unless you can test it first. I spent over £1100 on the dv9288ea for video. Mine has 512mb dedicated graphics and the whole machine has been problematic for VDJ.

Of course usin my X1950 pro graphics and other stuff out of my tower like psu and such, do i really need to buy another os or can I just install the xp i have then call microsoft and tell them i changed mobo and cpu??

Many thanks Jason (Cyder) for helping me pick out the stuff to build this baby will let you know if the onboard will run vdj when i build it:)
