Topic: Dual CPU PIII 866 Rack Mount Server

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

just inherited a Server Small enough to fit in a audio rack
has dual p3 866mhz CPU with 2 Gigs of Ram

If I couple this with a maya 44 usb how do you think this willl do with audio mixing?
maybe I can replace the mother board. it's a rackable systems computer..
I don't know if I can find a motherboard this small...

Built in video card and usb

I would love to see this work and fit in the rack with my amp!,

thanks,

VDJ does not to my knowledge support dual processor machines.

it's not the same as a dual core processor.

usually only stuff like photoshop, and avid, and other render intensive software will take advantage of both processors.

so for all intents and purposes, you have a P3 866. this is not a real powerhouse by any means, But I think you should be able to run VDJ audio only on it with little or no problems.

If it works, why change it.. unless you're wanting to do video, this should be able to become a fine audio machine!
