I am using a 7 yr old Vaio right now.
It was a refurb.
I just sold it for $500 bucks.
Didn't really feel like the MAC was what I wanted to do...

They will also engrave it for free btw, however I didn't because of more formal gigs.

hmmmm...

everybody I know that uses Sony PC are very happy with it...
Get recommended to buy it all the time.

I see lots of very profiled audio producers and djs use Vaio too... Including our Dennis Ferrer;)

And for looks, its the hottest looking PC around ;)

Actually, I was asked if I wanted to sell it.
Has a new 100g drive, battery, 1g of memory, wireless card new XPP OS to dump the bloatware and for what a new one of equal features costs, I shot a $500 number and they took it.
And...yes, few qualify for that kind of upgrading, but it was worth the investment.

Simon...I don't know who is whispering in your ear, but i've never heard of anybody having a single problem with a Sony.
I know of no eservice pattern either, unlike others.

And in recent years their pricing has become a lot more affordable, but not quite as much bang for your buck as you get with Dell laptops.

I looked at Dell and Allienware.
Dell was coming in at $3400 and Alienware was off the hook at nearly 5K.

Dell has made a bit of a name for itself around here unless there are just more of them.

This machine is for my light show and back up serving as this Vaio did.
I plan on being quite happy with it.
