What video format is the easiet for vdj to run? Less work for the computer & in what order?

example:

mpeg

divx

xvid

vob

Along with what audio. Like lets say a xvid vid with pcm audio.

I had a slight issue with .vob's, but mpeg2's seem to be working fine.

Any difference between MPEG1 and MPEG2 for Virtual DJ? Does one run better than the other?

But mpeg is a compressed format like a mp3. So you can't really compare it to a wav right?

But in conclusion your saying mpeg is the easiest for vdj to work with?

What other decoded formats are there?

Wmv? Mov?

ALL video formats are compressed.
ALL audio formats are compressed.

But the LEAST compressed formats are WAVE and MPEG2 (VOB).
Those formats are reffered to as the standard format, and mp3s are seen as compressed wave.
In same way as DivX is seen as compressed Mpeg2(vob).

And this goes for most hardware and software. Mpeg2 and wave are the standard format, so mp3s are often decoded to wave, before being played.

Therefor MPEG2 and WAVE are the least demanding formats for VDJ too.
And to top that, MPEG2 with WAVE audio (PCM windows).

Why? Because thats the standard formats in Windows, for "decompressed" audio and video.

Mpeg1 and mpeg2 both works very smooth in VDJ.
Even divX does (DivX 6)

Formats that does not run very well, are AVI and specially WMV.. last one is NOT made for jumping back and forth, so can not be used well for scratching and more.

USE MPEGS! ;)
