Do you have to give feedback for all the music vids? I know you do for the audio tracks. I saw the list of videos they have online, but didn't see much dance tracks as you mentioned.

Any way you can upload a clip from one of the vids so we can see the quality? If you take a clip of the video its going to degrade the quality because you are recompressing the file. But if you render the clip as a normal .avi we will be able to see the qualiy (the file will be bigger of course...but without the quality loss)

I didn't mention that this questions was for Culprit, about the my12inch.com site.

Thanks for sharing htttp://www.my12inch.com
I've just signed up and downloaded a few video's. Quality is great. Plenty good enough for my VJ'ing needs as visuals are just a bit of a novelty. It's the music that matters. Let me know if you find any other sites to download music video's from. Especially Dance !!!
Cheers.

The format is .mp4, so you will need to change the ".mp4" file format in Virtual DJ to Windows Media, and possibly download a codec.

Could you explain the process and What you need,, What is codec.
Thanks

Here is my step by step instructions on how I got my Virtual DJ to play mp4 files.

ok, to get Virtual DJ to play mp4 files, i recommend you download 3ivx & ffdshow.

http://www.3ivx.com/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow

After installing both programs do the following:

Open up Virtual DJ
Enter The Config / Settings Menu
Click on Codecs (Right next to Remote Control / Global Databases)
Scroll down and highlight "mp4", click change
Change the decorder portion from "Quicktime Audio Decoder" to "Windows Mediaplayer Video Decoder"
Click Ok, then Ok again and restart the application.

This will also work with the trial version of Virtual DJ. If you have any other questions or problems, please feel free to ask here or search the forums.

Yes, feedback is required for each audio / music video file you would like to download. It only takes 5 to 10 seconds to rate. Here is what you see when your inside the site, and the audio / music videos use the same player.

The good thing about this site is that it is co-owned by 93.5 K-day / Power 106's Dj Enrie, which are two major hip hop / dance / mainstream radio stations in Southern California. The key to this location and his position on these shows is most (if not all) the major record labels are based in this main area of Southern California. Dj's for these big radio stations sometimes get the singles straight from the studio, and with DJ Enrie spinning for major radio, he gets access to them almost right out of the studio, and when he gets the green light, he uploads them. This second picture shows their remix corner where producers / dj's sell remixes to popular songs, and this section is open to the little guys as well as the big, so if you made a dope remix and want to share with everyone, this would be the place to get it. I use remixes from this site all the time (mostly hip hop remixed into reggaeton or house style).

Here is a picture of a my12inch.com mp4 file playing in Virtual DJ

it's maximized so it may look a bit funky on my laptop, but with the second video output dedicated to full screen, it looks fantastic.

Again, any questions are welcome.

Back in the old days, we got 12inch Extended singles from the record pools…
Are the song the extended version or the radio version… (45 version)

It all depends on what the record labels give them. Usually they upload the acapella, dirty, clean and instrumental to every song, and the videos are usually unedited and left in tact. In the remix section, you can purchase edited versions of the music videos if someone has chopped it up and or modified it without all the extra footages, or an acapella / dirty / clean version of the videos and so on. They let you preview the modified versions of the videos as well as the audio remixes.

whats the expire date for?

how often are the music videos updated?

A record pool Is monthly.. They will e-mail you when update are added

Ok what happens if you cancel, is it like Napster where you lose all you have downloaded or are they yours to keep??

Yours to keep!
I didn't know you lost everything with Napster. Glad I didn't bother signing up to that one!

There are even insurance companies now that will insure your PC / hard drive against loss of data. So if you've spent loads of money on downloads you can get compensation if your hard drive ever fails.

Shure.. We have a company in Boston MA for $50. A Year, they will back up all your data.. Unlimited.

a good investment might be a network storage box or a tape drive for your pc ;)

1) The music files are mp3's and the video files are .mp4, they dont expire
2) You can download the songs as many times as you need up to 10 days after originally downloading it the first time. Dont know why they do this but its a rule.
3) They upload videos / music at random, just like any other record pool.

It seems that I need to check this out for a month then to see if to me it is worth paying, looks like it would be. And with the Napster, you don't lose what you have paid for ie. $.99 downloads, but you will lose the "Free" music that you have downloaded IF you cancel your subscription.

Im blind I didn't see that one, but I have seen some like it. LOL
