Basically what im after is advice on buying the right gear for use of tcv. This is just for use at home and in a large pub where i work occasionally.
Am i correct in thinking i need :
1 To buy 2 vinyl turntables? If so which turntables would you recommend.
2 Two timecoded vinyls from the vdj online shop?

I currently have the hercules dj console mk1 but gonna upgrade to the mk2. Should i use the mk2 sound card? or buy a external one? (im buying the mk2 as another alternative to using the tcv's)
Also im buying a pioneer 2 channel mixer
I just dont want to make a mistake and buy crap stuff and also the wrong stuff.
I live in the uk so any Links please use uk sites only.

Please help a nooob ty

Get turntables with DIRECT DRIVE, not belt.. and good torque.
Numark TTX and Technics 1200/1210s at the top range, but might be too expensive.
There are several cheaper good models though, both from Numark and others..

Get two timecode vinyls yes, but wait a little bit... The 3rd generation of VDJ vinyls will be out real soon.. With better pysical build, and some nice features too.

The MK2 console is a neat controller... so you might want it, regardless of the soundcard quality.
And regarding just that, the MK2 soundcard has two line ins, so will work in ASIO (low latency) mode with timecode vinyls, but for super fast scratching , the Hercules drivers dont cut it.. Not low enough latency.. So super uzi scratchin might sound digital.
If you're not a hard core scratch dj, the Mk2 might be ok...

For better super low latency, get such asio cards as Prosonic (firewire), FocusRite Shaffire LE (firewire), U46dj (USB), Maya (PCI), Soundblaster top range (USB & PCI), M-Audio cards (Delta, etc).
Several good options, all delivering good low latency.

nvm found a maya 44 external and a giga port.
now i just need pay day to come quick

The gigaport doesnt have line ins for timecode...

The M-Audio you found has two MONO ins (instrument/mic input), and will not work with timecode, that needs two STEREO ins

But the maya 44 usb is a great card for tc use ;)
So thats a good choice

Im not sure what turntables to get.
I dont fancy shelling out all that money on the 1210's.
would the numark tt500's be good?
My budget on payday is approx 450 english pounds to spend on a pair of turntables to learn how to scratch with which will do the job well.
Also what needles would i need to buy? Special ones for scratching?
Sorry about the noobie questions but i have no idea what im buying.....And just want to make sure i dont buy junk.
I would rather ask in the forums and get expert advice..ty
