Original is (far as I know) from Blackstreet yes, Blackstreet - We Gonna Take U Back (lude) / Don't Leave Me

but also been used at other songs such as:

Division - Back in the Day
CHRISTINA AGUILERA - BACK IN THE DAY
NENEH CHERRY - Inna City Mamma
Wyclef Jean - New Day
LIL' KIM - IN THE AIR TONIGHT

The Original is a 70s soul track. Cant recall the Artist but the track is about "Cavemen". I can look it when I am back home, as I have it on vinyl.
