Topic: Help w/ Configuring Shoutcast w/ VDJ for broadcasting

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I need help setting my programs up for broadcasting. I've uploaded Winamp and I am currently running a unregistered version of VDJ4. I've also downloaded the Shoutcast server to connect VDJ to Winamp. I thought I had it all set up and ready to go but I'm getting a "encoder error" when I try to lauch a broadcast from VDJ.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong and what I can do to fix the problem?

what encoder are you trying to use?

The only encoder that I'm running is the one that runs from that ShoutCast source in Winamp. I have it set to 25kbps/22.050kHz,mono. Is this set up right? Or should I be running something completely different?

skyfxl, please use bbcode to add links. In this case the width of the forum will remain normal. For example, this is the same link.

I read one other thread that addessed this problem, but , there was no definite answer. I am running virtualdj through the Shoutcast DNAS server, but the url that is attached to my station name is
http://virtualdj.com. How/ Is it possible to change this to a new/different URL ?
