Topic: Split cord for mains and headphones, v4.0

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I like to run one cord out of my laptop output using the mono split cord parameter to run one side to the mains and the other to the headphones. But my headphones have a male jack, as does the split cord coming out of the laptop. Any idea how to connect headphones in this situation?

I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Howard

you will need Y-splitter which has 1 sereo male minijack to 2 mono female minijack. And then to one end you plug headphones, to other end your speakers. You can made this splitter too if tou want.

Thanks very much for your help. That's what I did only using stereo male 1/8" jack connected to a Y split with 2 mono 1/4" female jacks.
