Topic: TWA Flight 800 - 10 Years Ago Today

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

40 minutes from now marks the 10 year anniversary of TWA Flight 800 and it's demise just a few short miles from my house. I remember that day well as about this time of the day my friend was over on his mountain bike and we were talking on my front lawn.

Let's pause a minute and remember the 230 souls that lost their lives that night. It was a night much like today as well.

My parents do know people that were actually on boats that day and witnessed the explosion. They swear they saw a streak of light rising into the sky, but that's not what this thread is about.

Just take a moment and remember those lost.

For the record, I highly suggest you pick up Nelson Demille's "Night Fall" which is a fictional work associated with Flight 800.

Basic, good suggestion. Luckily I didn't know anyone who was on the flight, but I do have friends who were witnesses also, camping at Smith's Point.

That flight was bound for Paris and so it is probably equally sad for our friends in France.

Nice touch basic, we tend to forget some of these tragedies.
