Well, lets get the basics out of the way. Are you wanting DJ Decks as in Vinyl Records, or DJ Decks as in CD Scratching?

Sounds like you best beat for a beginner is a learner package to break yourself in, and move yourself up. You can check these out, comes with everything you need, and the turntables are Direct Drive which is always a essential. This is a vinyl record deck:

See link: http://www.midweststereo.com/catalog/midwest-turntable-packages/MWSTURNTABLEPACK1/

CD Scratching, Mixing, you want to go with Pioneer or Denon. It's expensive, and a learner would be one of the numark's, maybe. Axis 8 or Axis 9 are solid, affordable package decks.

Hope this helps a tad.

ouch those xl 300 tables are hurt, keep in mind the money you spend now on cheaper stuff would have been the money you can spend on better--------- translation you will probably want to upgrade at some point so why not aim high from the start rather then wastse more money. If you really want to shoot high on some cheap $$$ then try these tables

i believe these have the exact same specs as tech 1200's. I have heard they are the sickest tables for that price.

i just wanted to add that these are not exactly like 1200's, they seem to be a little lighter but i would say for the price its probably the most bang you will find without spending tech 1200 money.
