Was wondering what the entire range of video file formats that can be read by VDJ are.

the videos read by VDJ will be the videos you have installed the codecs for on your computer.

I am in the process of determining which video editing softwear to purchase for Music video clip editing, I was trying to find out if the MPEG file format used was MPEG 1 or 2

VDJ reads best mpg1, but with the appropriate codecs, it will read mpg2.

OK, and these codecs u mention, are they apart of the VDJ softwear, if not can you go into more detail on what you mean.

if a codec is properly installed on your computer and you can use it with Windows Media Player, then you can use that codec in VDJ in the Extensions tab of the config.
