This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hey everyone....is there a way to keep your cue points when reloading vdj or updating? I just reloaded my computer and I lost all of my cues! AAArrrrggghhh! If anyone knows a way to stop this from happening in the future please let me know. Thanks.

Cue points are saved in the Virtual DJ database...

They shoudn't be lost at all.

If you want to keep your cue points, track bpm/cbg settings, and comments, you just have to backup the file "VirtualDJ Database.xml" contained in you VDJ folder.

Normally, VDJ updates do no mess with this file though.

If VDJ crashes or doesn't close properly for any reason, then you will lose all cue points, BPMs, settings, etc. that may have changed during that session because it didn't save that to the database(s).
As long as you exit properly, then you shouldn't lose that info.

Every now and again take a back up copy of your .xml file onto a floppy disc or a cd and then if anything like that happens again, simply upload it from disc. That way, you'll (hopefully) only have lost a small chunk of the information you had.

Especially helpful if you have a massive music collection!!!

Cheers...and keep spinnin...:o)
