Topic: Scanning Drives

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello,

I would like when you scan your drives to update files in VDJ database, that it would have the option to skip files already in the database, and just add the new files.

Thanks,

why would you have that option? Scanning my drives (2*250G) takes less than a minute. An option to anaylyse files that are not analysed yet could be useful in my opinion.

I think he is talking about analyze too, not scan.., and i agree.

What i do:
1. I scan my music folders so all my music files are available in search.
2. Do a search without writing anything in the text field, this way all files listed.
3. Sort by bpm.. Because only already analyzed files have bpm info, its easy to select the other
(not analysed) files. Save them as a playlist is also a good idea, to analyze them later...
Right click->analyze..

What you also could do is:
- Scan your drives, without the analyse function.
- Select the drive where yoiur music is on (for multiple drives repeat these actions)
- Right click and select "Show all" (Could take a little time)
- All files of the drive will be in the file browser
- Sort on bpm
- All files not yet analysed are at the bottom of the list
- Select the songs not yet analysed
- Right click and select "Analyse"
