Well ... I've tried it out for myself ...
The sound quality is quite identical to WAV ... but so is 320 Kbps MP3 using the LAME codec. The compression is not impressive at all .... !!!
I converted a 3:41 minute song to .shn format ... came out to 24 Megs !?!?!? What the hell is that ?
The same song converted at 320 kbps mp3 only took up 8.6 megs. I DO NOT find any audible difference between 320 mp3 vs. WAV ... and that's how I will continue to archive my collection.
Throw in all your comments/opinions.
