I am looking to encorporate an
external mixer into ATOMIX but
I am a little unsure what to use?
Can anybody reccomend a good
budget mixer I do not really have
too much to spend.
Also How does it plug to the PC?
Via USB? AND ... Lastly, when I
use the crossfader on an external mixer
will the crossfader on ATOMIX also
move?

An external mixer does not have anything to do with your PC, just on one front: the audio must be transferred from your PC to your mixer and that has to be done using audiocables as
3,5 mm to 2 jacks. Quite easy. Coz there is only a audio connection between mixer and PC the crossfader from atomix will NOT move. When hooking up a mixer you can see Atomix as it is just 2 turntables. Nothing more, nothing less. (Although beatmixing is easier on Atomix ;p)

Now, on the mixer itself. When you say low budget i think of around $200/€200. Behringer or Gemini may be a good choice for you. I would say a Behringer VMX200/300 fits your needs. Just give google a try on mixing panels and go orientate yourself. Don't buy anything expensive: the audio output quality of Atomix is good but not that good that you will experience better quality with a expensive mixer. Most important on a mixer when using atomix is: the equalizer (3 tones at least, high, mid, low) and the quality of the faders.

Hope i helped you out (although i'm a DEMO user)

Ok, thanks guys! So I'm guessing
that you cannot use an external
mixer to mix between the two
tracks playing on ATOMIX!?
OH WELL!
DJ Walkers - I type like this
because it looks neater & I
prefer it that way instead of
sprawled out across the page!
(sorry if annoys anybody!!)

THANKS AGAIN CHAPS!!

You CAN use a mixer to mix
between the atomix players.

If you only have one stereo
soundcard in your computer
you can play in mono, player
1 in left channel and player 2
in right channel. In OPTIONS
select the sound configuration
for one soundcard and external
mixer. Using Y adaptors, split
the output from your computer's
left output into BOTH L & R inputs
on one mixer channel. Hook the
computer's right output to both
inputs on another mixer channel.
Then leave the atomix crossfader
in the middle and use the external
mixer's crossfader or channel faders
to mix between 2 tracks playing on
atomix. Or you can download one of
the skins that has no crossfader so
there is no confusion.

If you want stereo sound you will
have to use either a surround type
card with front and rear outputs or
use a second soundcard and configure
the sound options as necc.
