Hehehe... nice to see you've got a sane view on this whole thing...

I was talking to the DJ at the club I was at tonight because the used PCDJ and I was wondering if that was any good.. he said that the basics were pretty easy to learn but it's hard to master: obviously that was the case cause they (92 guys in the booth) had NO fucking clue what DJ'ing was about and it went totally silent about 5 times during the night(not counting embarrasing "I know, let's add a few seconds of porn-sounds"-moments)

I think Atomix is quite a lot more easier to learn that for instance PCDJ, it has builtin BPM-detection(I didn't see any PM-info in PCDJ and the song/file-list looked kinda confusing, even though it had rather advanced right-click-menus) which helps us newbies out a great deal but still Atomix offers a fair amount of control.

I found this proggie a few months back and since then I've learned a GREAT deal about beatmixing.. and I honestly and seriously thought about taking over that booth tonight cause those guys had no skills whatsoever and most of the people onboard that boat(/club) stopped and stared at them several times just due to the lack of any music at all :o)

OK, now I see you understand the stuff, what you should or should not do...but does anyone has some real advice hehe

@ the above, I live in a town called Split, Croatia which is by the sea side and in the summer we get loads of turists...sad truth is that DJ that are in the Clubs usually do just what you say...play the damn music like its a Juke-Box...So if any of em i reading this, heh get better!!! use Atomix :)

Now once more i remind you please post few links to a pages that might describe the "tools" used by a real DJ, how they work etc etc. anything useful

If not...I can always listen to my "Green Green grass of home"

i can give you a list right here

2 Proffesional Turntables (with pitch control offcourse),try getting direct drive
1 Mixer preferablly more than 2 channels, try something with equalizers and stuff, besides if you wanna battle style you need a battle mixer or for scratch a scratch mixer etc...
Vinyl stack for playing songs
Amplifier for amplifying sound from the mixer
Speakers offcourse to get the sound out
Cables to connect them all, always have extra cables.

Thats the main setup for turntables
Same thing for cd's you just put cd's instead of turntables.

Offcourse theres more accesories and stuff samplers, sound enhancers, cartridges, needles,BPM & Effects Units,Microphones
,Signal Processing,Power Conditioners,lights,smoke machines

everything from power to light to music theres alot these are the basic hope ive helped ya

Keep on mixin dem records
