Topic: seperate the vocals from the beat

i am looking for a way to seperate a singers vocals from the beat of a song if this is possible can you let me know

u need an audio editor like cooledit to professionally get rid of unwanted frequencies..u could mess around with the eq in atomix but that will only get you so far
