Greetings, I run a hobby internet radio station https://www.wurn.net where we post maybe a couple shows a month. we have no advertising and receive no income. The current choices I see for using Virtual DJ are either $20 a month/ $199 a year or $299 for a perpetual license. Are there any alternatives for folks like me who are not deriving income from our use of Virtual DJ? BEst, -Mike

Bite the bullet, you're using at least few 100 in hardware that will have to be replaced, and a monthly internet bill. 1 time cost for a for perpetual SW to use almost any hardware, it's an outlay but it's a smart one.
Maybe try crowd funding, if you have listeners a few will kick a few bucks to running costs, you don't have to go hard at it, twice a show, maybe a link on your site/portal, some twitch streamers make an entire living out of voluntary donations, even 20 viewer streamers pay for their gaming habit with dono's.
Set up your ASK page with a dono link, a song request with a voluntary few bucks appreciation isn't hard capitalism.

The biggest problem at Virtual DJ is actually, that Atomix doesn't a quite affordable option for those DJ's who play at PUBLIC but UNCOMMERCIAL events.
