Topic: Small but Big Change needed.


VDJ can you make the scroll bar thin. the size changes with the font size and can be big and bulky taking up so much extra space for no reason.

when the font is very small the scroll is a great size.

i attached difference sizes to show what i mean.

many people use the big font because they're on touch screens, so they also need the big scrollbar
 
Im pretty sure most swipe and scroll with their fingers similar to using a phone.

I think it still applies to standard screen users, bigger font for aging eyes or distance from the screen [or might help for the 'perceptually modified performances'] , bigger text would imply you want a wider bar.
 

As you can see with competition. even at the largest font, the scroll bar is still not massive. but thats just my 2 cents, hopefully VDJ considers it, if not its ok.
 
Personally I'm with locodog and Stephane. IMO the scroll width should increase/decrease with the font size.

Certainly with Windows 11 apps so often the scroll bars are too narrow, even when other things are fine (as your Serato pic above clearly shows).

I'm sure that at the Serato Forums a user is making the exact opposite argument.
He shows a picture of VirtualDJ and asks for a wider scrollbar that's easier to see and use :P

There's no right or wrong.
Just different way of doing things with a particular reasoning behind them
And that's why it's good to have choices.
Otherwise we would have one OS, one office suite, one internet browser, one dj application, one controller, one amp, one speaker design e.t.c.
 
Is the scroll bar resizing possibly editable in the skin? If yes, is that something that perhaps locodog or someone else could take on?
 
I think it would be good if it were thinner by default, but if it got bigger when you used it or hovered over it, that way it wouldn't always take up so much space. 🤔
 
Agree with @Alex's take too (exception would be touch screen skins).

A horizontal scrollbar with show on hover behavior for the track listing section wouldn't hurt too (where could potentially a large number of metadata columns added).
