Topic: stem EQ on external mixers
In VirtualDJ, devices that utilize external EQ frequencies do not allow the Stem EQ knobs to function properly. For example, on devices like the DJM-S11, which rely on hardware-based EQ frequencies, adjusting the Stem EQ knobs causes mid, bass, and high EQs to activate simultaneously, resulting in unintended changes to the sound.

Adding the "Stem EQ" feature to the DJM-S11 mixer would be a significant innovation and an opportunity for advancement for users. With this functionality introduced on devices like the DDJ-REV7 and Rane Four, we have experienced how it can elevate creative performances to a higher level. Implementing a similar update for the DJM-S11 would greatly enrich professional DJ sets and add a new dimension to mixes.

Additionally, the ability to disable hardware EQ frequencies on mixers is a critical step toward enhancing Stem EQ usability. This innovative approach has been successfully implemented on devices like the DDJ-REV7 and Rane Four. In Serato DJ, XML MIDI Mapping has been used to disable EQ frequencies, allowing Stem controls (vocal, bass, melody, etc.) to be assigned to EQ knobs. For VirtualDJ, a script to disable hardware EQ would suffice to address this need.

In this regard, we kindly request the development of an update or script that enables the ability to disable EQ frequencies for devices like the DJM-S11, which rely on hardware EQ frequencies. Such a development would not only enhance the value and competitiveness of your product but also improve user satisfaction and loyalty. We sincerely appreciate your attention to this matter and your support.

This feels like this is done where it's possible already (e.g. the Rane Four/Rane Performer have a MIDI switch mode that switches off the hardware EQ to allow for what you stated). However, the hardware itself has to allow for that to be possible, and that's probably not the case across the board.

I have the same wish, but VDJ can't solve this problem. If you want to solve it, PIONEER can only change the EQ hardware and rewrite the data program. For example, if you replace the EQ knob component on S11, this EQ component can only control the EQ frequency at the software level, not the hardware control as it is now. Then S11 needs to rewrite the program. When not connected to the PC, let this controller-like EQ component control the physical EQ. When connected to the computer, EQ is just the controller EQ, disconnected from the physical hardware. Then S11 must have a disconnect option to achieve this. However, based on the current actual situation of PIONEER, I feel that they will not do this. If they do, it will probably be S12 or some other model and it will be more expensive!
Because the problem of STEMS EQ is not only VDJ, other software cannot achieve it. On the contrary, VDJ has a solution on the 4CH mixer (use 2&3CH to control EQ, and 1&4CH to control SEMTS EQ). On the contrary, RB Serato has not achieved the function of SEMTS EQ on S11.
I think you have this idea because you need 8PAD+STEMS EQ, right? Then you can learn from my equipment method.
DJM all 4CH mixer + 2 DENON SC6000. This way, each turntable can have 8PAD, and DJM's 1CH&4CH can also realize the function of STEM EQ. This is how I use it.
As for some people who directly use S11 and a mixer controller as STEM EQ, I have also tried it, and it is very inconvenient to operate, especially when PAD is needed. So the only feasible solution at present is the one I mentioned, which is the most practical!
