Music is on external drive,(D) I want to reorganize it within VDJ.
It would be easier to use my desktop system for this. The desktop has 2 drives:(C) And(D). So when the external drive is plugged in the desktop: it reads (E).
I have a feeling this cannot be done without messing things up when I plug the external drive back into the laptop. Thoughts please.

No problem, paths in the database are stored relative to the drive letter, so it doesn't matter if it's e: on your desktop and d: on your laptop

Actually I think VDJ will figure out the drive letter change by itself
If not it usually detects a pattern and fixes all tracks that have the same a problem, when you use the "relocate missing file" option on multiple tracks
EDIT: I was too slow, and of course Adions answer is the correct one - he probably created the code that does it :)

Thanks. Worried because I seem to remember previously, win the tags the file path would show the drive letter.
