I'm planning to start a setup my a Surface notebook but I don't know how to connect voice microphones to the notebook. It's running voice mikes separate better?

You normally don't connect your microphone direct to your laptop. It's usual to have a mixer/controller connected to the laptop. Controllers usually have a microphone channel that you connect to. Some DJs have an extra small mixer added for the microphone, it depends on the quality of the mixer/controller.
