I concur, and have been meaning to write about this, too.
I've just updated to the latest VDJ and yeah, still no luck.
I was a little surprised to see that this thread goes back to 2021.
Clearly the way it currently behaves isn't logical or as intended - can we please get an update from the admins/devs?
