Topic: Microphone latency / delay (headset microphone)

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to do a live stream with my partner singing over the top of an instrumental, however I'm hitting a few snags, mostly with latency of the microphone and less so with balancing out the microphone to reduce feedback and echoing. This could be a hardware related issue admittedly as it's not really a dedicated microphone, but I can only work with what I have at the moment.

Is there a way to change the settings within the software to tweak latency from the microphone and any of the other issues I'm encountering?

Thank you in advance :)

Are you listening to the live feed? If so, no. There is nothing you can do to improve that. It is inherent in the time it takes for the signal you send, to be received by the broadcast server, that in turn, will send it out to several other servers, to be distributed across the internet. The speed of light is incredibly fast but, it is not instantaneous.
