Topic: Rekordbox import and export support

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Ok this quite a longshot but still with the realms of possibility. It would be cool to have the possibility of importing edits or have tracks show up like Serato but instead with rekordbox. for now, there is rekord.cloud which is a monthly fee but does allow the ability to convert from rekordbox to virtual DJ (or from Serato).

but this is for a long time feature, the ability to export to a rekordbox prepped USB. cue points, playlists etc that can be placed in a pioneer set of decks for use, just like rekordbox. but also have the ability to select target hardware such as pioneer cdj 2000 or later, where files would be converted to cd quality (16bit 44.1khz) aif format placed on the USB. but leaving original files intact except if it's already cd quality aif or a lossy file such as mp3 then it would just be copied over.

therefore, we can use just 1 djing software instead of having to use rekordbox and virtual DJ.

I know I could install rekordbox alongside virtual DJ and I have converted my tracks to aif format and placed in a different folder outside my music folder liberty. but it just means less effort trying to shoehorn my music to work with different software and hardware.

this is something that virtual dj should work on as a long time project.

i agree with this.

It's unlikely to happen. Is there any DJ software on the market that imports and exports their competitors formats?

Plus, now that Rekordbox has moved to a subscription for v6, apparently their database has become even more tightly integrated.
