Using Early Access 4189 now... Load 4 tracks into Automix (Type = Smart (Tempo))
For examples sake: BPM's are 125, 127, 129, & 130.
While the 125 is playing, if you gently increase the tempo (to try to "meet" the 127 coming in), it doesn't actually preserve the bpm of the 127 to essentially meet up with it, it retains the % increase to the 125 and matches with the 127 ... at the higher percentage.
Maybe add an option in the Automix section: "Preserve individual BPM's in Automix __Yes __No"
In this way, you could gradually tweak each track playing to meet the "fixed" value of the next one, and not simply remember the % up or down during the course of the playlist.
Does this make sense?
Doug

And whats the benefit of using Automix when you are actually mixing by hand?

Great question, because I don't use Auto for live gigs.
I like to use Auto to pre-record "pre-show" filler mixes, while I'm working on club lights, fog machines, etc.
I should have explained better.
If this option was available, I could pick a wider range of tunes to group into these recordings.

Then prerecord an actual mix....

Well, there's that.... :-)

I agree with the above comments. Automix is there so you can drag a bunch of tunes to the list and walk away. What you are describing isn't the function of Automix at all.

It would still be Automix, but please... Forget I mentioned it. Geesh.

This is like a mini script for a comedy skit....(made me laugh anyway)

I'm not really laughing. For the idiots with mean comments... picture that you have put 10 tracks in the list to record a "filler stream".
125,126,125,127,125,126,125,126,127,132 (BECAUSE YOU WANT THOSE TO PLAY, IN THAT ORDER).
If that simple Option existed, you could fire up the Automix and actually walk way (for quite some time), knowing that when you hear the 9th song playing, you might want to come to the system and gradually bump up song number 9 so the Tempo Transition period doesn't sound so obvious.
Now comes the smart-ass response..."Why don't you just 125,126,126,127,128,128,129,130,131,132" to which I will respond "Thank you for that awesome answer. Why didn't I think of that?"

PS: Remember Version 7, which used to make subtle transition chenages over the course of the entire track?
Didn't think so.

No sorry but I've entirely forgotten everything about v7, not meaning to be a dick, just out with the old in with the new (only so much space in my noggin)
I honestly don't know why atomix made their choices with regard to automix, but if you're prerecording then you're prerecording, if you want better results out of automated methods then a playlist with poi is the way to go.

Yes it takes effort & learning but with poi you can have a perfect (but perhaps a bit technically boring) A to B set.

What I'm trying to say is automix does a job but with script you can surpass that, I whole heartedly agree to the ideal of "let the machine do the work" but if that's not good enough, learn how to order the machine what you want.

Very true. POI is awesome. Already use it a lot to shorten /lengthen tracks, etc.

Okay if you know about POI, a RSI script could be the way to go IF you know that your order is 125,126,125,127,125,126,125,126,127,132. Or what the last two tracks are.

Knowing that you want to go from 127 to 132 with these two tracks, the script could do the work for you.
Loco is the RSI master so he better can assist you from here.

Sounds interesting. Haven't used scripts before but love to learn new tricks. If Loco is following this thread, please send along a link to the docs on this.
Thanks!
