Topic: Pad Page like the DDJ-SB3 Pad Scratch - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

Could someone make a Pad Page like the DDJ-SB3 Pad Scratch
Then we could be a little ahead of the game, and already have the new function, even before this new controller is mapped
... and of course for every controller :)

To me it looks like just a list of recorded jog wheel movements
I've made this and tried it with different move and wait lengths, but it has to be a little better than that:
down ? touchwheel_touch on & scratch -200ms : scratch +200ms & repeat_start 'wait' 50ms 1 & touchwheel_touch off

Downside is that I just recently purchased an SR 2

Scratch dj here, yes & no (up in arms) yes because what it can do will be rinsed, no because scratch isn't perfectly quantized, the feeling of the performance is in the syncopation.
Then there's the xf work.

Also given that vdj's scratch command is time driven and not beat driven it will be hit and miss,
(Can't say how the sb3 works)
Kind of like figuring out your car's speed by the engine's rpm, possible if you factor; gear, drag, traction, load, engine efficiency.

I've got the tools and like a challenge but I doubt I'll publish owt on this one.

It will probably be better to write a plugin for this. That would be much more accurate, beat synced and could also take care of volume to emulate xf movement

If I understood DJDad correctly, the Scratch Pads aren't actually an effect.
They are just "pre-recorded" midi messages, that every software could interpret and move the jogs and CF according to the messages.

But maybe I'm entirely wrong.

Yes, you understood well. But until we implement something similar or provide an action/tool to reproduce (or even record your own ones), Klaus suggests a workaround with something that sounds like a scratch.
