Topic: Pre Set pitch and tempo Virtual DJ v7

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi all,
Hope you can help. I use VDJ for singing with as well as DJING and some of my backing tracks I have them at different picthes and tempos. At the moment I have to manually set them before each song. Is there a way I can pre-set the pitch and key of the songs so I can automix the set and sing straight through.
Thank you
Luke

Are you using version 8?
I believe it may be possible in 8 with the POI editor.

If not, you could change the pitch of a track and record it like that. Then you would have the original key/pitch and a second file the way you want it.

I did miss the V7
Can't he still pitch/key adjust his track and record it to a new file with the record feature? Does CUE let you record?

sure he can, but not sure how many files he wants to edit.....
5 or 10 might be OK, but if there are 50, 100 or more, recording every singel file ( in real time) with a edited pitch, is quite a lot of work and rather uneffective ;-)

Thanks for your help. It's not many songs I need to edit, and editing them was an option I considered but wondered if there was an easier way in Cue. Ah well.

I've downloaded and tried V8 but really struggled to get used to it. A lot of the features I use in 7 I was unable to find in 8. When I get chance I might try it again on a spare machine before I upgrade my main laptop.

Once again I appreciate your help.

Thank you

Feel free to ask at any time.

No argument there at all!

A few things were moved around in 8. But, there are a lot more things you can do as well.
You can also have them both installed on the same computer. As always, back up your home directory and databases before installing anything.
