Topic: Assistance with recording using a Numark Mixdeck Express, and ASIO setup

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello friends, I recently purchased the Numark Mixdeck Express and have been having a heck of a time setting it up with my VDJPro. First off, I installed the ASIO4all and when I open VDJ and try set it up to run, I get this message.

"Error in the soundcard, not enough channels" .....or something to that extent.

My audio setup is this...

Output: None
Input: External mixer
Soundcard: ASIO

If anybody could elaborate on that, I would greatly appreciate it.

Now, for recording, I understand the Mixdeck does not have a MIDI mixer and that, while recording is possible, any blending or EQ changes wont be picked up at VDJ's mixer is staying stationary. What would I have to do in order to make recordings with my equipment??

Thank you all for the input!!

I can't find that the Mixdeck express is an ASIO device. ASIO4all is software that fools other software into thinking that you have an ASIO device. I would recommend removing ASIO4all and using the mixdeck as a WDM device, like I do with my mixtrack pro.

As far as recording, since you have not registered your software, but you just got numark, I assume you are running VDJ LE. To set up advance sound config and map your line in on your internal sound card as a recording device. For that you would need to upgrade to Pro.

Friends I got a question u have virtual dj pro and numark mixdeck the mixdeck control almost everything except for the crossfader soo when y record sets of music sound really bad I slice the crossfader whit the mix deck but when I listen my record sounds like I didn't

This is because the mixer of the MixDeck is a real hardware mixer and doesn't send MIDI.

Good Day Forum,
Please I need assistance. I use NUMARK mixdeck express with VDJ PRO 7 which when connect, the sound quality I don't really appreciate.
If I connect my XLR wires directly to my Player to the speaker, it doesn't sound good and can't not scratch. My question is,
Is it possible to use an EXTERNAL AUDIO Interface with Mixdeck? If yes, How to I set it up. The mixdeck come with a pre-installed
Audio interface but I pressume the quality of sound doesn't replicate with what I listen to from other audio devices.

And how do I set my mixdeck to control SAMPLE and SAMPLE RECORDING......FILTER KEY and SYNC. Thanks
