So currently I am using VDj and hercules RMX. I havent used any of this on a job because it is still relatively new. (6 months or so). I am looking to tie it all together and start to make money again with it. I am in the market for either Some pioneer Digital decks or even denons. But for now Im going to stick with my Numark icdx's. I have 2 of those and they have worked fine for years. I only used to use cd's with them. Im looking to use them with my Vdj Pro.
So my question for anyone that would help me is, is this a good idea? I have heard yes.
My other issue is, when im home messing around with my stuff, after about 40 minutes or so my computer completely shuts down on me. Black, power off. I obviously cant have that happen when im doing a gig. (I'm using an older acer to do all of this..that may be part of my issue :()
What is going on...do i need a update? A new Software install? Please help me.
On top of that, someone give me some advice as to how to hook up my icdx's. I hope its going to be as easy as i think it's going to be.
And on top of that, I am trying to sell Selling is not permitted on these forums
Please...help!

Hi mate
Firt of all. If you are now using VDJpro version, make sure you register the software and download the latest version. Also make sure you are running the latest driver version for your RMX.
Have a look in the wiki at the guide for laptop setup to make sure you have your computer setup the best way possible when running VDJ.
I assume you want to use your cd decks for mixing/scratch and so on. You will need to make up a pair of timecode cd's for this. You can do this by going to the download section and burning the discs from the timecode cd file.
Give your laptop an overhaul. If it is an older one it could just be clogged up with dust and overheating. If you don't feel confident doing this yourself. Pop it into a repair shop and ask them to clean it for you.
Selling items is not permitted on the forum so you may well find your post gets edited :-) Try Ebay or one of the other online Auction sites.

You dont need timecodes for the ICDX as they have HID and work really well with VDJ.
You will need a sound card though like the ICDX as the ICdX do not have a sound card built in.
Press the source button and and then use she scroll wheel by it on the top left of the player to select PC I think it is and press it down.

If you are using them at the same time as the RMX, then you don't need a sound card. The RMX already has one built-in.
Both controllers can be used at the same time. In a 4 deck setup, you could also use the iCDX's to control decks 1&2 and the RMX to control 3&4.
The controllers can be assigned to the appropriate decks via CONFIG -> Mappers, choose appropriate controller in the drop-down list, then click on the button to the right of the list and choose the option to assign the controller.

OOps!
My bad on the timecode CD's
So you would hook up the ICDX units and RMX as controllers.
Then use the sound card on the RMX to provide the audio out for all four decks.
That makes sense :-)
You would need to hook up the audio outs on the ICDX's to the line ins on the RMX to provide CD play functionality.
How would the laptop cope with all that gear hooked up to the USB tho? I guess only trying it would show that.

You would connect the RMX and iCDX's directly to your computer by USB - I.e: 3 USB cables and ports required if you have 1x RMX and 2x iCDX.
You can also plug the audio outputs of the iCDX into the line inputs of the RMX to allow you to still play audio CD's, however this cannot be used as an emergency backup because the RMX will cease to function if anything happens to your computer (It's a MIDI controller only and is not capable of working as a stand-alone device.)
